A thirty-year friendship, one where we shared in each other’s milestones, brought us together to join our passions and create a much needed service for our community. Let us share our stories, so that you may learn more about us and see the hearts behind Hearts on Hand.
Carrie was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario and has been active in the community for the past ten years. She started her work in the cleaning industry as a custodian for a local public school. In 2004, she and her family moved to Saskatchewan, where she supervised the cleaning department of a Heritage Inn. Today, Carrie is the owner and operator of Carrie’s Personal Touch, a residential and commercial cleaning company that has been in service locally for over ten years. Her passion for helping others has expanded to accommodate our community’s elderly citizens, as well as people with disabilities of all kinds. In 2016, she reached out to Trina Regan, her friend of thirty years, and together they formed Hearts on Hand, a much-needed service in their community.
Trina was born and raised in Foleyet and attended post-secondary school in Timmins. She graduated from the Practical Nursing program at Northern College and settled into her nursing career in 1996. Trina worked with seniors until 2004, when she and her family relocated to Longlac, Ontario. There she discovered a passion for working in addictions and did so for 10 years before she returned to Timmins, and in June of 2016, together with her lifelong friend Carrie Girard, developed the concept of Hearts on Hand.
